The money belt - a product every traveler needs
Hey everyone, welcome back to Sincerely Takira! I hope you all had a great weekend and are excited about the productive week we have ahead of us. As promised, I will be doing a review on one of my favorite products that I think (almost) every traveler should have. The product that I’m referring to is a money belt.
For those of you who don’t know...
A money belt is a small, zippered pouch that you can wrap around your waist to secure important items while traveling (according to Google). But in my opinion, a money belt is much more than that. A money belt is your best friend when traveling. You can carry it on your person without having to carry it at all! And that’s why I love it so much. My experience with a money belt is based on my purchase of the Alpha Keeper money belt which can be found here on Amazon.
Let's keep this straightforward and to-the-point.
three reasons I love my Alpha Keeper money belt:
1) It’s cute.
One of the reasons I chose this money belt is because it’s so darn cute (no, but really). If you Google search, “money belt,” you may be taken aback by some of the horrible product designs that exist out there on that scary place called the internet (eek!). Or, you might be impressed by the one money belt that actually looks like a belt that you’d wear to keep yourself from “looking like a fool with ya pants on the ground.” (You’re welcome, Dad) The Alpha Keeper money belt has a sleek design which is offered in three different colors: black, beige, and grey. Not only does it look nice, it’s also lightweight and made with waterproof 210D ripstop Nylon. Which means it’s basically indestructible? Heck yeah!
2) It’s convenient.
The Alpha Keeper money belt is super clutch (handy) to me because it allows you to hold all of your important things (phone, ID, passport, keys, money, etc.) while keeping your hands free. It has multiple compartments which makes it easier to sort through multiple documents and credit cards if needed.
3) It makes you feel safe(r).
I enjoy my Alpha Keeper money belt because it provides me a stronger sense of security than a normal purse or wallet would. Wearing it below my clothing guarantees that it is close to me at all times.
As some of you may know, pockets on clothing designed for women are generally smaller than those made for men. This "unfortunately" makes it almost a requirement that women carry a bag with them wherever they go (marketing plug?!)
Personally, it bothers me to carry purses while traveling.
It makes me feel like I have one more thing to worry about. When walking in a crowded area, I'm told to hold my purse or bag closer to reduce the chances of it being either stolen or pick-pocketed. In my opinion, that is one of the last things that I want to be worried about. The Alpha Keeper money belt takes away the need for me to always be protective over my possessions. In lieu, they are now simply tucked away under my shirt or jacket and I'm good to go.
All in all
Money belts are generally a good item to have. Not only do they assist you in safe travels, but they also can be used for other activities. You no longer have to worry about lugging around valuables while jogging, hiking, or traveling -- the money belt does it for you! Stay tuned for my next post about products I think (almost) every traveler needs. Ladies, you'll love this one!
