Maintaining natural hair while abroad

Today I'd like to introduce you to another product that I think (almost) every traveler should have. (I say almost because not every traveler has a mane that they're super cautious with?! *shrugs*) This product is great for those of us who really care about our hair and want to keep it in tip-top shape.
So, what's the product?
One of the best purchases that I've made for my time abroad is Thermal Hair Care Hot Head Cap. This cordless conditioning cap is amazing because it can be used to deep condition your hair with heat while on the go! For those of you who don't know, below you'll find a brief rundown on what deep conditioning is and why it's important.
Deep Conditioning?
Deep conditioning is the act of applying a moisturizing treatment to the hair and allowing it to hydrate your strands over an extended amount of time (15-30 minutes). Deep conditioning with heat lifts the hair cuticle and fosters moisture absorption into each individual strand. This process ensures that your hair does not dry out or become damaged due to constant styling, chemical processes, heat use, and exposure to the elements (wind and sun). I could go on and on about the wonderful benefits of deep conditioning your hair, but I’ll narrow it down to these three points:
It gives life to your hair by increasing moisture.
It improves elasticity which prevents your hair from breaking.
It is a relaxing way to treat yourself whenever your hair is acting a fool!
I love relaxing after a long week by treating my hair along side sweet smelling candles.
In order to use the hot head cap, you simply warm it up in the microwave for about two minutes or so. It’s possible to heat it for a longer period of time; however, please use caution.

HOW DOES ONE HOT HEAD?
Here’s a brief overview of the steps I take when deep conditioning my hair:
After shampooing, separate hair into 4 sections.
Apply a generous amount of your favorite conditioner/mask to each section of hair.
Cover hair with a processing cap and the hot head conditioning cap.
Let the conditioner hydrate your strands for 30 minutes or so.
Rinse conditioner out with cold water.
And that’s all folks, it’s really that simple!
OKAY, BUT WHY THE HOT HEAD?
I love the design of the hot head cap because it allows me to deep condition my hair with heat no matter where I am. Thanks to the hot head, hair lovers no longer have to be stagnant while waiting under the dryer. No strings attached (pun intended): We can now deep condition our hair while doing laundry, cooking, or completing other chores...like walking our dogs (just joking). As you can see in the photos below, there are many things you can do while also pampering your hair.
Another awesome factor about the hot head is its price ($30 USD online). That certainly is a good trade off as some hooded hair dryers can be pretty expensive. Not to mention it’s less likely to break. Trust me, I’ve broken a few.
The hot head deep conditioning cap is small, portable, and only requires the use of a microwave. It’s easily accessible and doesn’t require maintenance other than occasional spot cleaning.
