The year of action

The year of action

There’s no telling why it took me so long to get here. It seems like everyone has been excited for the new year. Everyone but me. As I reflect on the year 2016, I realize that there were definitely some highs and lows.

Highs:
-    I traveled A LOT: Washington DC, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Atlanta, and Orlando
-    I became fluent in Spanish
-    I met my other half
-    I started a new job as an RA
-    I learned how to live by myself and be adult-like
-    I kicked my coffee addiction

Lows:
-    I experienced culture shock (and reverse culture shock)
-    I gained about 20lbs of love weight which somewhat concerns me
-    I realized that I’m not happy with my social life
-    I’ve started at least 6 books that I still need to finish

With that said, I’m all on board with the idea that 2016 was the best year of my life (so far). But I’m only 21 years old so there’s a lot more life to live. I’m just hoping that 2017 will be the year that I expect it to be. In the next 12 months I’m expecting a lot more growth, a lot less settling, and lifestyle changes that will encourage me to be healthier and more productive. My goal for the year is to live up to my potential. I know that’s a lot easier said that done but my current read has inspired me to think differently. I hope you will too.

Read with me:

"Know that wherever you are in your life right now is both temporary, and exactly where you are supposed to be. You have arrived at this moment to learn what you must learn, so you can become the person you need to be to create the life you truly want. Even when life is difficult or challenging— especially when life is difficult and challenging— the present is always an opportunity for us to learn, grow, and become better than we’ve ever been before."

The Miracle Morning, Hal Erod

Take your life head on. It’s your time. It’s your story.
