Writing has always been a safe space for me. From the moment I first learned to spell my name, I wrote it on every material belonging to me. I took pride in my words, I was careful about my speech. There aren’t too many things that roll off my tongue that I would like to take back. In my free time as a child, I wrote plays, poetry, and pilots for my own tv shows. I won story-telling competitions and was always selected to be the class representative on field trips and meetings with distinguished guests. It’s no surprise to me that at the mere age of 25 I am starting my writing journey once again. It was only a few years ago when I started my blog, Sincerely Takira.

Since then I have grown and matured into finding my voice. I am not afraid to be myself because I am in love with myself, unapologetically. Lately, I’ve been feeling the urge to rebuild my online presence because it’s been too long. There are voices that need to be heard, stories to be told, and all of that cannot simply remain on social media.

I can’t make any promises about what the future will hold but all I can say is this time, I mean it. I know it’s probably been said and done before but this time it’s personal. My ability to write, think, speak, and teach was embedded in my God-given DNA. My presence and life were designed long before I walked this earth and I refuse to rest of my laurels and pat myself on the back for a job-well-done.

For real, this time, it’s the real me. Coming to you authentically. I have tales of marriage, family, and life in between. I hope you enjoy the journey but if not, oh well, it probably wasn’t meant for you anyway. Take care, dear friend, we’ll be talking soon. This is my tribute to both me and you…

Sincerely,
Takira
